The subject I choose was iguanas. The reason I chose iguanas
is because I have a pet iguana named Apollo at home who is starting to out grow
his habitat. Also the subject of iguanas is very interesting and fun to blog
about. Also if your thinking about getting an iguana there are many important
things you have to keep in mind, for example they grow to be about 6 feet in
length, and need a huge cage. Also If neglected they can become very dangerous.
When threatened they will use their tails to defend their territory, a full
grown iguana tail whip can snap a humans leg in two, and bites usually require stitches.
Its very important to take them out as often as you can, so they don’t become
aggressive.

Zach, you’re my first student to blog about iguanas and so far, I’m learning a lot. I never knew that they needed so much human interaction in order to remain friendly and calm. Poor Apollo missed you so much when you left him for a week when you went on vacation that he bit you! I guess that it really wasn’t his fault as that is their nature but I would be so nervous about handling him again after that experience. Has he been better with you since then? Do your parents or siblings ever handle him? About how much money does it cost to take care of Apollo? The cage and lighting must add up to a lot of money. About how big will Apollo grow? How long does the average iguana live until? I hope to be able to see a picture of Apollo on your blog. Your blog is very interesting, informative and very creative! I’m looking forward to returning soon to read (and learn) more! Mrs. A.
